Portfolio

A private portfolio of working assets.

I don't publish the names of the properties I own. Competitors watch this space closely, and the value of a quiet niche is that it stays quiet. What I can share openly is how the portfolio is composed, what each asset has to earn its place, and how I decide what to buy, build, hold or sell.

What the portfolio holds

Four asset classes, each with a different role: some produce income today, some appreciate for later, and some do both.

Domain holdings

Premium, aged and brandable names held for development or resale. The foundation layer of everything else.

Appreciates; sold selectively

Utility tools

Single-purpose web tools people return to whenever they need the job done. Steady, unpaid traffic.

Recurring income

Reference resources

Large, structured reference sites with unique pages for each entity they cover.

Recurring income

Content and affiliate sites

Niche publications built on topical maps, monetized through advertising and affiliate programs.

Recurring income; grows in value

What every asset has in common

Utility first

Each property exists to do something useful for the visitor. Monetization is designed around that usefulness, never in place of it.

Owned, not rented

Every asset sits on a domain I control, on infrastructure I choose. No property depends on a single platform, network or algorithm for its survival.

Built to be maintained

Lean code, clear structure and documented processes mean each site can be improved for years without being rebuilt.

Measured honestly

Traffic, revenue and user behaviour are tracked per property so decisions about what to grow, hold or sell are based on evidence.

Buy, build, hold or sell

Every property is reviewed on the same schedule and against the same questions.

Buy

When a domain passes the acquisition criteria and there is a credible plan to develop or resell it at a return that justifies the price.

Build

When search demand is under-served and a tool or resource can be the best answer, on a domain that gives it a head start.

Hold

When an asset is earning, growing or appreciating and the best return comes from patience and maintenance.

Sell

When someone else can extract more value from a property than I can, or when the capital is better placed in the next acquisition.
